Rice University is dedicated to fostering a culture of integrity and accountability, and the EthicsPoint Reporting Line is a foundation of that commitment. Available 24/7, EthicsPoint provides a safe, confidential, and anonymous way to report concerns about misconduct or policy violations in the workplace, ensuring your voice is heard without fear.

How to Report on EthicsPoint

Whether you’ve witnessed or experienced something that doesn’t align with Rice’s values, you can report it securely online at www.rice.edu/ethics (redirected to the third-party EthicsPoint secure platform) or by calling toll-free at 1-866-294-4633. The reporting line allows you to submit reports anonymously via phone, web, or in person.

To make reporting even faster and more accessible, Rice has introduced a new anonymous texting feature. Faculty, staff, and students can now text “Report It Now” to 866-5WE-HOOT (593-4668) to receive a direct link to the EthicsPoint Reporting Line. This anonymous, mobile-friendly option streamlines access, allowing you to quickly connect with the EthicsPoint from anywhere. While the reporting process itself remains unchanged, this new entry point is designed to be faster, simpler, and more convenient. We encourage you to save 866-5WE-HOOT (593-4668) in your phone for easy access.

What Happens When You Report?

Submitting a report is simple and flexible. You can include multiple concerns in one submission and attach supporting documents, like images or files, to provide clarity. After filing, you’ll receive a unique “report key” and password. Keep these safe as they let you check on your report’s status or respond to follow-up questions anonymously, from anywhere, at any time.

Your Protection, Our Priority

Rice stands firmly behind its Policy 813, Whistleblower and Non-Retaliation Protection Policy. Anyone who reports suspected or actual misconduct in good faith, whether through EthicsPoint or other internal channels, is shielded from retaliation. The university takes each report seriously to foster a safe environment for speaking up.
