Did you know that Rice has a 24/7 helpline for you to voice any concerns you may have confidentially if you observe or experience improper behavior in the workplace? Rice is committed to maintaining an environment of ethical behavior and compliance with law and university policies. Through the EthicsPoint Helpline, a community member can make a confidential report by phone, online, or in person; they can even do so anonymously.
Rice’s EthicsPoint helpline is available online at www.rice.edu/ethics (you will be redirected to the secured EthicsPoint site) or by phone at 1-866-294-4633 (toll-free). EthicsPoint allows for anonymous and confidential reporting in English, Spanish, and many other languages.
The Reporting Process:
You can report multiple issues in a single report. Also, you can attach images or other documentation to support your report.
Once you submit a report, it will be directed to the appropriate University official for investigation, and you will be assigned a unique code called a "report key." Write down your report key and password and keep them in a safe place. This key will allow you to log in at any time, from any place, and follow up on your report. It will also allow you to anonymously access and answer follow-up questions from Rice (if you are comfortable doing so).
Your Protection Matters:
Remember, Rice has a Whistleblower and Non-Retaliation Protection policy in place to protect people who make reports. Rice prohibits any retaliation against any person for reporting in good faith a report of suspected or actual wrongful conduct through any internal channel or to any appropriate authority. Rice will take all appropriate and necessary action to deal with a violation of this policy.
